FAQs
Why are tyres at mytyres.co.uk so much cheaper?

The following quote sums up the reason from ADAC 3/2000 (The German equivalent of the AA):

"The price spans listed in the table (without balancing and fitting costs) are based on a nationwide dealer survey carried out in December 1999. Prices listed serve only as an approximate benchmark and may vary greatly from dealer to dealer. The reason: tyre manufacturers sell their products at very different prices. Criteria such as quantity or time of order have a direct influence on the dealer's purchase price. The dealer is forced to recalculate prices to adapt to market forces. Price-conscious customers should take time to compare prices."

Are VAT and transport costs included in the prices listed?

The prices include VAT and transport costs within mainland Britain.

  • For the Scottish islands please add £9.50 per tyre
  • For Northern Ireland please add £9.75 per tyre
  • For the Isle of Man and Isle of Wight please add £14.75 per tyre
  • For the Republic of Ireland please order through www.eiretyres.com .The site contains transport prices to Ireland and prices in EURO's.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to the Channel Islands.
Are the tyres new?

We only sell new tyres. We do not sell old stock. Our tyres are all brand new products. Check the DOT number to find out how old a tyre is. The tyre industry sells tyres up to 2 years old as new.
We also sell remoulds. However these are specially marked as being remoulded. Our remoulds are made in the UK.

Do you also deliver outside the UK?

We can deliver to all of the countries listed below. If you want the shipment to be sent to one of these countries, then please place your order through the respective shop. There, you can also find the relevant terms and conditions applicable to that country. However, we can only accept orders when the invoice address and the delivery address are in the same country. The figures quoted below refer to the extra cost per tyre over and above the actual sales price and are for a minimum of two tyres.

If this is the case and the goods have not yet been delivered and you have not received any news from us, the next step is to send an e-mail to mytyres@delti.com or  call us. Our contact information can be found on the "Contact" page.

First make sure you have correctly filled out the order form and sent the order.

If you have and the goods have not yet been delivered and you have not received any news from the tyre dealer, the next step is to send an e-mail or to call your dealer. This information is usually found on the "Contact" page.

The dealer will then tell you if your order has been processed and if something has gone wrong with the delivery. In most cases, you will receive a prompt reply because the dealer is interested in keeping you as a customer.

Important: Write down all the products you have ordered and where you have ordered them from. Keep this in a safe place.

Paying via the Internet
What payment methods are available via the Internet?

At mytyres.co.uk:
We offer payment by cheque, credit card or cash.

In general
Thanks to reports in the media, many potential online buyers are under the impression that secure and safe payment using the Internet is nearly impossible. In actual fact, online customers can choose between several different types of payment.

You send your order via the Internet, but this does not mean that the payment flows back the same way. Misuse of credit cards cannot take place. "Paying via credit card" lists some small precautionary steps to ensure the safety of your data. Listed below is some preliminary information about payment in general, not just within the Internet.

Advance payments by cheque or credit card.
With this method of payment, you pay before the goods are sent out. The disadvantage here is that you cannot inspect the product for damages or defects before paying. If you have a defective product, it might be more difficult to get your money back. Refunding can sometimes be a problem.

If you are thinking about returning goods, e.g. because the size is not right, you should choose a different payment method. Check if the seller will exchange the product or refund the money if you decide to return the product. Make a note if packaging and shipping costs are covered by the seller or if you have to pay the return shipment costs.
Important: Check the Terms and Conditions. If the seller does not explicitly state that they will not pay the return packaging and shipping costs, you can refuse to pay any additional charges on delivery, and return the goods free of charge.

About mytyres.co.uk:

Our competitively low prices mean that we cannot accept payment against invoice. If you are not satisfied with our service, send the tyres back to us as stated in our Return Policy (please contact us to find out the return address) and we will then credit the purchase price to your account.

Payment using credit card

Online shopping using your credit card is safe and easy. When paying online, the credit card holder is asked to enter the credit card number and expiry date. The data is then sent to the tyre dealer. The dealer then checks with the respective credit card company that the data is correct and that sufficient funds are available. If the enquiry proves positive, the dealer can then send out the goods.

If you want to be on the safe side, you should only buy in SSL online shops. These shops are marked by a yellow-coloured lock in the bottom left-hand corner of the browser window. This lock indicates that your connection to the tyre dealer is secure. The data verification takes place automatically. Your browser detects if it is connecting to a secure site.
